SUNDA KELAPA HARBOUR

Consider Jakarta's old port, Sunda Kelapa Harbour features historic docks lined by traditional two-masted wooden sailing ships with colorful hulls. If you are lucky, and for a small charge of fee, guides working in this area can tell you more about the port's history and its role in the spice trade. Though only a minor port now, this site played a significant part in the early development of Jakarta.

Keep in mind that this is still an active port, so, expect to see and smell the dirt and grime of local industry.
