GUNUNG PULAI - BALING, KEDAH DARUL AMAN

Gunung Pulai is located inside the district of Baling, Kedah, the northern state of Malaysia. There is also another mountain next to it, where you can see when you reach the peak, which is Gunung Baling.

With the height of 620 metre, this mountain is not easy to climb. The most challenging part of this trek is, you have to make your way thru the sharp rock, almost everywhere. Besides that, the gradient of the slope is quite slanting. Very few ways that is straight and easy. The rest are all climbing.

Starting our journey at 4am, we walk pass thru rivers, jungles, climbing from one end to another, until we meet our first check point. We took a rest here for recharge ( believe me, you do need a rest ).

The journey doesn't ends here. There a still more climbing to do, until the very end of the track. Make sure you carry enough water, it really helps. It does help if you start climbing when the sun is up. There is no much trees up here, and the heat is quite hot.

After walking for about 4 hours (the time is around 8am), we manage to reach the peak. The peak is quite big. Enough space for you to place your tent and start camping. For picture lovers out there, the view here is quite breath taking. You can see almost everything 360. All those hard word really worth the time.

We spend almost 3 hours up here, waiting for the rest of the team to gather. Lucky for us, the sun is on our side. If its raining, its quite hard to find shelter.

That is Gunung Baling

360 view. Make sure you camera is charged.

Going up here doesn't require any permit. You can walk your way freely. But do mind to hire yourself a guide, as the track here is quite confusing, especially when you reach the rocky area.

Try out this track. Have fun and enjoy yourself all the way...!
