IFTAR @ SEMBANG SPONTAN - PANDAN INDAH - KUALA LUMPUR

SUNDAY 18th JUNE 2017

Since it's sunday, me and my friend planning to break fast outside. Our first plan is suppose to be at Pantai Dalam, eat something western. Unfortunately, the place is fully booked, which leads us to no choice but to change the place somewhere.

Our first thought is just go to Tasik Titiwangsa and have something lite there. Then, during the last minute decision, one of my friend propose to go to Pandan Indah. Since that place is nearer to his office, well, we guest why not. Let's give it a shot !

The landmark to this place is the Menara Perbadanan Ampang Jaya ( MPAJ ) building. It's located within the building's boundary. From the main road you won't miss it.

Serves mainly malay cuisine, it does serves others as well such as Laksa, Yong Taufu, Mee Goreng, Char Kueh Teow, fresh fruits, kuih-muih and guess what, Grill Chicken and Lamb ! Thanks goodness, there's still a little bit of western here.

Price starting from RM23.90 per person ( during weekdays ) and RM36.90 per person ( during weekends ). It does have live performance to ease you out during your fine dining. Others like Surau and Toilet are well provided here.

We did have the chance to meet the restaurant's owner before we go. A nice and humble person. Talking about his experience with the place, etc. He did allow the guest to bring back the food if they wanted to. Well at least some of them can use it for Sahur. For me I think this is good. At least it prevent from wastage and give customer something extra.

They also cater for breakfast buffet here during the normal month / days. Can event deliver to your doorstep if requires so.

Overall, I think this place is good. Worth the try if you have no idea where to go for food hunting. The price quite reasonable. Something good to bargain for.

IFTAR @ KLANG - SELANGOR DARUL EHSAN

WEDNESDAY 14th JUNE 2017

Today me and my friend wanted to break fast eating something other then the norms. Prefer something lite. When it means lite, well, no rice obviously. Having no idea where to go, then she propose this place as an option.

Located in the centre of Klang town, this place is quite tricky to find ( if you don't use WAZE or what so ever ). Took around 45 minutes to drive from Petaling Jaya, the heavy traffic at Federal Highway during late our ( people going back from work ) does a little bit effecting your mood. No other way to choose, well, might as well just dash for it.

We arrived at this place somewhere around 8.15pm. The place already crowded with people. All seems enjoying their food while having good time with their families and friends.

The main dish is steamboat. Plenty to choose from. Apart from that, they also serves malay delicacies or kuih, fresh fruits, and even ice-cream. Refill water also can be found here such as Bandung, Sirap, Oren and more.

You will be served with a soup, either Tom Yam or Vegetable. There is a stove and also a griller for you to prepare your food, depending on your way.

It cost RM29.00 per person. Plus tax and everthing, both of us end up totalling RM68.00.

Overall, I quite satisfied with the food here, and also, the ambience of the surrounding. This place is suitable if you planning to have a large number of guest, a family treat, or even just both of you with your love ones.

HASAN TOMYAM & SEAFOOD @ KAMPUNG BARU - KUALA LUMPUR

WEDNESDAY 14th JUNE 2017

The journey not just ended with eating cendol + durian alone. We continue our activity with eating lite. Well, by looking at it, we think its lite, but, well, I leave you guys to be the judge.

Eat porridge for sahur, can this be true ?

And the answer is YES.

The time now is 3.30 am. The restaurant is quite a distance from the cendol shop. We walk around 15 minutes to get here. As we arrived, we've been greeted by a welcoming waiter. What a wonderful start for sahur.

We ordered a big bowl of porridge, chicken, anchovies, mushroom veggie and telur asin. All five of us eat and it did enough. Amazing !

The price is quite affordable. For all this plus drinks, it cost us RM66.

Well, quite affordable for if you ask me. We spend our time here roughly an hour before we head back home. Ok, its a wrap. #DoneWithSahur

CENDOL DURIAN @ JALAN RAJA ALANG - KAMPUNG BARU - KUALA LUMPUR

WEDNESDAY 14th JUNE 2017

This is really an unplanned trip. Around 11.45pm I receive a massage from one of my friend inviting to eat cendol at Kampung Baru. According to him, this is not an any regular cendol. This cendol includes Durian inside it. YES, DURIAN !

" ... Those who free tonight, let's eat cendol durian... see you guys later 2.00 am, at Kampung Baru ..... "

Hmmm... what in the world ? Sounds to good to be true, asking for cendol durian at this time ? Then later I receive a massage from another friend asking me whether I'm going or not ? Well, hard to turn back her wish so I just full-fill it.

Finish work at Bangi, I pick her up at Bukit Jalil, drive all the way to Kuala Lumpur just to eat cendol. Hahaha, sounds funny, but, well, that's the fun part. During our way there, we invited another friend just to make it more merrier. She's somewhere in Jalan TAR this time, so, quite near for her to swing by Kampung Baru.

The place is quite hard to find, if you not familiar with Kampung Baru. Thanks to WAZE, searching for location seems quite easy now days. The soonest we arrive there, two of our friend already there. So, it make all five of us.

The place is quite crowded. Even when the clock already hit 1.30 am in the morning ( and yes, tomorrow everybody is working ), this place seems like the roof is still on fire ( if you understand what I mean ). Well, this is Kuala Lumpur, where people says, THE CITY NEVER SLEEPS.

For those who are a durian freak and a cendol lover, you guys can try this one. Its a combination of both in one cup. Not just durian, you can also mix it with corn, or even pulut. The price for one cendol & durian is RM10. A normal cendol is RM3. If with corn or pulut, the price will be RM7.

If you want to taste something new and ready for a food adventure, I recommend you guys to try this. Not so bizarre, but it does have some unique taste. Swing by here if you guys free sometime. Remember to look for a cup that is green color. There are a lot of other shop that sells cendol. Just that the one that I'm trying here is this one.

Enjoy !

GUNUNG YONG YAP, PERAK DARUL RIDZUAN - Part 3

After a short rest at Simpang Y, we continue our way to the peak. Passerby did say that the distance between Simpang Y and the peak should only take you another half an hour. Well, guess what ? Actually it took another one and a half hour to reach.

The track is quite muddy. Full with tree roots, you will have to climb your way up using this roots. Even though quite tough, but the view of the mossy forest is quite nice.

After all the hustle  and bustle finally we reach the peak. The time now is roughly 4.00 pm. Looks like we are the second one to arrive (from our group). Well, on the peak, not only us there, but others as well. There's a bunch of student (which started their journey earlier) already arrive here. More than 40 people of them all together.

Before you climb your last slope to the peak, there will have 2 turns. On the right is where you can see the whole view of the mountains, while on the right is where the marker took place.

ON THE RIGH - THE VIEW

The view here is quite awesome. You can see almost 180 of the whole mountain. Standing area is not big enough, but still, you will manage to catch a nice photo here.

ON THE LEFT - THE MARKER

Well here is where the marker point is. Its an open area which surrounded with trees, and a decent space for you to rest ( some may set their camp here, if they taking to road to YYBTN - Yong Yap, Bubu, Tok Nenek )

Bare in mind that if you walk further toward the closed jungle up front, you will find another view point ( that can see the whole view 360 ). Not many people know this. Depends on the guide, or, from others whose once been here before. Make your effort a little bit more to claim your reward. Trust me, its wort it.

We stay here until 6.30 pm. After gather with the rest of the group, take some photos, have a quick bite, etc, we make our way back to base camp. Spend the night there and make our way back to the parking lot or Kampung Orang Asli the next day.

Overall, the track here is quite challenging. It covers all from crossing rivers, muddy roads, climbing rocks  & roots, and more, but, at the end, the view on top does pays well. All those hard work does worth it when you finally reach the peak. I guess not all nice view comes in easy isn't it ?

Well, if you do planning on taking this trip, make sure to mentally prepared, and do have some sort of fitness. Truly this is not one of those mountain that easy to tame to. Requires an effort.

Have fun & enjoy !
