GOPENG HERITAGE HOUSE MUSEUM

Gopeng Heritage House opened its doors in May 2011, showing items and culture that capture the simple yet dazzling lives of the people of Gopeng some 125 years ago through the numerous antiquities, antiques, old furniture, and calligraphy paintings on display.

The exhibits are arranged over two floors. The ground level shows some Chinese furniture, ornaments, and ceramics. Near the entrance is an antique mirrored hall stand of European appearance, a grandfather clock, an ancient fan and a mock up of a barber's shop, complete with an old style barber's chair.

Upstairs are a couple of bedrooms and a sitting room which may be available as overnight accommodation for those who wishes to. There is a small but pretty courtyard garden with bonsai trees and a stall selling some souvenir item like postcards and books. Old radios, clocks, lamps, torches, suitcases, beer bottles, vintage cigarette packets, musical instruments and gramophone records here complete the whole displays.

Admission is FREE but donations are welcome. Opens weekend on Saturday and Sunday from 9.00am to 3.00pm. Weekdays opens daily except Wednesday and Thursday from 9.00am to 5.00pm. Closed for lunch from 12.00pm to 1.00pm.
