Journey to Fansipan @ Sapa - Travel from Kuala Lumpur to Hanoi

WEDNESDAY 31st JANUARY 2018

This trip take us 5 days to finish. Starting from Kuala Lumpur, fly to Hanoi, take a sleeper bus to Sapa, climb up Fansipan Mountain, and fly back home. Sounds like a piece-of-cake kinda plan, but believe me, it doesn't.

Our journey began on this day, 31st January 2018, where all Malaysian is on public holiday ( Thaipusam ). We start our day early in the morning, 5.30am to be exact, from Kajang to Putrajaya Sentral, and take an ERL Train to KLIA.

Our flight is set to take off at 9.40am. Considering all the hustle-and-bustle process at the airport, we decided to go to airport a little bit early.

It takes three and a half hours to fly from Kuala Lumpur to Hanoi. Planty of time for you to rest or sleep if you wish. Or else, enjoy the in-flight food and some movie to kill the time.

We arrived at 12.00pm local time at Hanoi. Thank goodness everything is alright and the plane is safely landed. It took us nearly an hour plus to clear all the custom checks and pick-up luggage. After all done, we go out and try to find ourselves a taxi.

The weather is cold, 13 degree if I'm not mistaken. It does force me to take out my jacket and wear. We manage to find a taxi. Not the one from inside counter, but rather a freelance agent wondering around looking for customer.

He offers us Dong 600,000, or USD20. Its a big car. Consider our number is 6 people, and our bags is quite plenty, well the fare is quite reasonable I might say.

From Hanoi International Airport travel to the city, took us nearly an hour ( 45 minutes I guess ). The traffic is quite bad during certain time, so, do be careful if you are rushing for time.
