CAT CAT VILLAGE - Sapa, Vietnam

FRIDAY 2nd FEBRUARY 2018

One of the place that you can pay a visit while in Sapa is Cat Cat Village. It's located at the bottom of the Muong Hoa Valley and near Cat Cat Waterfall. This place is an old village which populated by H'Mong ethnic group, which still practices original unique customs.

We take a tour made by Sapa Express. Our bus depart at 3.30pm. We arrive at Sapa Express office around 11.00am. So, it does a better way to "kill" time. To get there you need to hire a car, or taxi, or, you can rent a motor bike and drove there.

For us, we hire one 7 seater car ( because there is 5 of us all together ). It cost Dong350,000 for return trip. It's like a half our drive to get there. The weather outside is raining, and the vision is not so clear, so to play safe, we take the offer.

Once you arrive at the entrace, you need to pay Dong 70,000 for entry fee. They will give you a map that shows the general plan of the village. You will be walking your way down all the way. Along the way you will see a lot of shops that sells many items. Some are common, and some are unique.

In the same time you can see the nature's beauty with high mountains and green rice terrace below. You can also see wild boar that walks around freely without harming anyone around. It looks like it been living here with harmony side by side. Seems like the boar is more pet to me.

This place is really rare and unique. If you have the time, you can explore this place entirely. Like us, time is quite limited as we got a bus to catch. We only spend 4 hours here then off we go. We did buy something for ourselves as souvenir. I'll bet if the weather is bright and sunny, the view would be tremendously ohsem.

Give it a try. I'm sure you won't re-grate it.

Enjoy !
