GUA TEMPURUNG - THE JOURNEY BEGINS

It is better to start your day early, especially if you are going to do something that requires you to track for quite a while. Well, you don't know how long it takes to spend your trip, so, to play safe, just start early.

Gua Tempurung is a wonderful cave, located in Gopeng, Perak, Malaysia. If you familiar with the town of Ipoh, then, going here is not a big deal. It took roughly 45 minutes to drive from Ipoh to Gopeng.

Upon arrival, you will see a river. It is a fine river cave that runs about 1.6km through the hill. You can relax here if you like, before entering the cave. There a varios tours into the cave ( being the main attraction here ). You can experience these tours with specific requirements of prior preparation. Certain tours require you to bring a change of clothes and shoes. Since it is a cave, torch lights and safety helmets are available for rent.

About 3km long, this cave is consider one of the longest caves in Malaysia, and popular among spelunkers, or caving enthusiasts. Part of it has been developed as a show cave with electric lighting and walkways. Deeper inside of it, you will have to crawl yourself until the end. ( but don't worry, its going to be fun ).
