GUNUNG YONG YAP, PERAK DARUL RIDZUAN - Part 2

DAY 2

We started quiet early today. Wake up at 7.00am, clean ourselves, have breakfast, and prepare whatever necessary for our coming track. Having no idea whats ahead of us, we just hope that our hike will be going as smooth as possible. We start moving from our camp roughly 9.30am.

After about 2 hours of walking ( the time now is roughly 11.30am) finally we reach our first stop, which is Kem Sungai Jerok. Apart from Kem Agas, this camp is also suitable for camping. The size is not as big as Kem Agas, but, the near location and easy access to river make this place an ideal spot.

We stop here for just half an hour. Enough for us to catch our breath and waiting for others for regroup. Once every one has arrive, we continue our walk to the next stop.

The next stop will requires you to walk between one and a half hours to reach, which is Kem Balak Pecah ( we reach here around 1.00pm ). This campsite is not suitable to camp because of the size ( quite small ). Just enough for you to take a quick rest and regroup.

Continue your way further until you reach a junction, which local calls it Simpang Y. This junction will direct you to either (right) to Mount Yong Yap, or (left) to Mount Bubu.

Just for knowledge, going to the left will lead you to Mount Bubu. Mount Bubu is also one of the highest peak in Peninsular Malaysia ( 1657m height ). This route will requires several hours before you can reach the peak.

For us then, we stick to the right. The stop here is quite small. But still, some people will camp here if they making their way to Mount Bubu. There are no water point here so bare in mind.

The time now is 2.30pm. We rest for a while and eat something lite while waiting for others. Still few hours further before we can reach the peak.
